Crashes cost Adam Sterry at Loket

Crashes cost Adam Sterry of the F&H Racing Team points in both races of the Czech round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship at Loket after the Welshman had qualified fifth.

Sterry had used an outside gate to good effect during qualification but incidents in the early stages of each points-scoring race cost him the opportunity to repeat that scoreline. In the first race his surge around the outside of the first turn was blocked when two other riders crashed and blocked his path whilst in race two he escaped an early collision to crash alone as he attempted to advance from eleventh. Showing excellent speed, he recovered to twelfth and fifteenth places in the two motos and heads for the next GP full of confidence.

Adam Sterry: "I got a great start yesterday using the outside gate but today it just didn't work out. In the first race two other riders collided inside of me and I was trapped behind them before coming back from last to twelfth. In the second race I touched with another rider as we went into the first turn, but I still came out eleventh. I saw the chance to pass another rider on a drop-off but I had never ridden that line before and had a big crash. Again I had to come from the back to finish fifteenth. The speed was good this weekend, only the result wasn't what I wanted."

Gustavo Pessoa, a twenty year old from Sao Paolo, showed great promise as he made his GP debut for Bike It DRT Kawasaki. The young Brazilian posted top fifteen times in training and carried that speed into racing to hold down sixteenth place until he crashed on the final lap of race one as he displayed his competitive spirit. He was eliminated early in race two but his determination was evident to all and he clearly has a bright future.
