Different colours for Team F&H Kawasaki at the MX of Nations

The Netherlands, France and Denmark will each call on members of the F&H Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team in the 74th edition of the FIM Motocross of Nations at Mantova in northern Italy this weekend.

F&H Kawasaki is one of the few teams in the paddock to be present with its full line-up at the annual race for national teams; while Roan van de Moosdijk and Mikkel Haarup will contest the MX2 class as usual Mathys Boisrame will make his first appearance on a KX450.

Having celebrated her thirtieth birthday during the week F&H team manager Nathalie Fase has flown to Italy to be alongside her riders. “We feel very proud as our riders will each line up in a strong national team, and I hope that all of them will be able to fight for a podium result. The bikes are looking good and the riders are looking good so we’re confident! The MXoN is one of the most special events of the season, but with the race this year in the middle of the season it’s not been easy as we have a busy schedule with GPs every weekend. But we made it, and as a Dutch team we are of course really honoured to have one of our riders representing our country; we’re also proud to see Mikkel racing for Denmark and Mathys racing for the strong French team. It’s the first time for us that one of our rider will race on a 450; we have made it thanks to Kawasaki Motors Europe, though as I say doing that in the middle of the season has been a little bit stressful,” said the smiling team manager.

With the number two on his bike, Roan van de Moosdijk lines up for the defending champions; after being the reserve rider two years ago at Assen he is now a full-time member of the Dutch team. “I’m really happy to be in the team, especially as they won two years ago in Assen. I was not racing that weekend but I was in the team and learnt a lot from all of them so I’m ready for it. We have a strong team with Jeffrey Herlings and Glenn Coldenhoff; they can give me some good advice and for sure I will enjoy this weekend. My bike looks like the one Ryan Villopoto rode with such success, but when I am on the bike I don’t see the number so it doesn’t put me under any pressure. I just walked the track; they built some new jumps and waves and I think it’s a good one for racing,” declared Roan, who also confirmed that he has no more pain to his injured wrist.

Facing a move to the MXGP class next year as he turned twenty-three years of age in July, Mathys will race on a 450 this weekend for the first time in his career. “I’m very happy to race the MX of Nations with the French team, especially on a KX450, and I can say that I’ve never been so motivated! A dream has come true with this selection; I have worked hard since I was a kid to reach the top level and to be selected for the MXoN is for sure very important for me. I have been with the French team in Italy since Monday; we have spent a lot of time together and we had the opportunity to train together in Cremona on Wednesday. We did two good sessions working on the settings of the bike and I feel comfortable on a 450. Kawasaki Motors Europe has provided us a KX 2022 model; I have just made some small adjustments to my riding style and I immediately had a very good feeling on the bike,” revealed the Frenchman who will have Tom Vialle and Benoit Paturel as teammates.

In common with his F&H teammates Mikkel Haarup will be racing the MX of Nations for the first time. “It’s very nice to be here; it’s the first for me and I’m really excited to go out on track now! For Team Denmark this race has been pretty difficult in the past as we didn’t have so many fast riders but this year we have a very strong team and I must admit that I’m very excited to be here. This event is really different than the others; seeing my bike with our national colours is thrilling and the atmosphere in the paddock is really nice so I hope it will stay like that! I did a few races for Team Denmark earlier in my career in the European championships; usually I rode really well having the team behind me and hopefully that will continue this weekend,” explained Mikkel who will have Thomas Kjer Olsen and Bastian Boegh Damm as team mates.
