Refinements also included changes to selected gear ratios, new fork internals, firmer compression damping for the rear shock and a spec change to the oil height in the front forks, the combination of which increased on-track stability and race long riding poise. In the column marked “detail changes”, the foot pegs were made 5mm wider and moved back 3mm, a small adjustment but characteristic of the thought and care that goes into every bike in the KX range.
Like the KX250, the enduro focused KX250X features launch control and finger follower valve operation based on Kawasaki WorldSBK technology plus it also shares the KX’s adjustable footpeg and handlebar positions. Both machines are fitted with electric starting (via a Lithium -ion battery) and hydraulic clutches. and both models can be tuned via either quick and convenient “plug and play” loom adapters for soft, medium and hard tracks.
With an engine guard skid plate and side stand, plus the combination of a 21inch front and 18inch rear wheel (having a 110/100-18 tyre fitted), the KX250X is perfectly suited to its role of all day racing on some of the most arduous and demanding long-distance off-road courses. The KX250 and KX250X will be offered by specialist Kawasaki off-road dealers across the 2024 season in traditional Kawasaki Lime Green livery.
